OUR HISTORY

Foundation Mechanics (FM), is a WBE & DBE Certified Woman Owned Small Business General Contracting and Professional Services Firm. Our qualifications boast a broad and unique spectrum of work including, but not limited to, Native Plant Restoration, Civil Roadway Work, Ecological Restoration, Streambank Stabilization, Helical Pile Installation, Landscaping, Drainage and Roadway Improvement Projects.

FM was founded by its President Jenny Kelecius. The firm has had much success in a short amount of time due to Jenny’s approach of aggressive growth by way of proactive and strategic planning, best hiring selection practices, diversification and calculated risk aversion.

The concept of Foundation Mechanics started as a casual dinner conversation about mutual acquaintances who were business owners. After friends suggested Jenny start her own firm in jest, the joke became a reality overnight when she established her LLC the next day!

The combination of Jenny’s entrepreneurial spirit and previous success establishing businesses coupled with the experience of the trusted construction management professionals she recruited, proved to be a recipe for success.

Eager for work and opportunity in the company’s early years, FM performed foundation crack repairs and consulted on miscellaneous design solutions for residential and commercial clients. The staff quickly learned there was a huge deficit in the market for skillful construction management professionals, and decided to optimize their experience and talent to forge ahead in other areas with more of a civil construction discipline. FM went from soliciting business for private foundation repairs to bidding and performing large contracts for multiple municipalities seemingly overnight. They have since become signatory with Local 150 Operators and have successfully managed several clients as a General Contractor.

Since the Company’s inception in 2011, FM has intentionally recruited its work force to be comprised of highly competent, well-rounded and experienced personnel who undergoes frequent continuing education. Foundation Mechanic’s industry professionals are the reason for the company’s success and ability to maintain the company’s vision. All while empowering them with the freedom to learn and grow as professionals and discover how their contribution matters. They truly are the “foundation” of our company.
