PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is continuing a large- scale restoration project along Spring Brook — a tributary of the West Branch of the DuPage River — that runs through Blackwell Forest Preserve. One of the primary benefits of this project is that it will mitigate wetlands impacted by current and future construction projects along the central corridor of I-294. Foundation Mechanics was subcontracted by V3 Companies to construct one vehicular bridge structure and one pedestrian bridge structure over the realigned waterway. Significant features of these bridge structures include pile driving, substructure concrete, beam and structure erection and superstructure concrete.
