PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In May of 2015, The United States Coast Guard issued a variety of Minor Shore Infrastructure Projects all over the country. One of those projects was to Replace 220 linear feet of the main bulkhead and dredge moorings in Wilmette, IL. Foundation Mechanics was subcontracted to furnish and install Helical Tie Backs to anchor the new sheet piling to the earth as to prevent rotation of the wall resulting from the newly dredged lake bottom. Along with the helical pile work, Foundation Mechanics assisted the designer in providing a concrete deadman design solution to enhance the as-bid tie back system.
